Dr. Brenda M. Brandon was born in Maryland. She was a graduate of the University of Maryland Pharmacy School in 1972. She received a Masters degree in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health and graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1983. After a year of internship in Internal Medicine at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Maryland in 1988. She has been in private practice in Columbia since 1988. She joined the medical staff at St. Agnes Hospital in 2005. She is Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She and her attorney husband live in Baltimore. She is no longer performing deliveries.

Dr. Carol Emerson is from Florida. After graduating from the University of Virginia in 1979 as a physics major, she attended the University of Florida College of Medicine, graduating in 1983. While in Medical School, she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology was completed at the University of Maryland in 1987. Dr. Emerson is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has been in private practice since 1987. Dr. Emerson has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomy. She joined the medical staff at St. Agnes Hospital in 2005. Dr. Emerson, her husband (Robert Berg, a physicist), and three children live in Olney. Dr. Emerson is no longer performing deliveries.

Dr. Nancy Hammond, raised in upstate New York, joined us in 1992. She is a 1977 graduate of Johns Hopkins University, with a degree in German Literature. She received her post- baccalaureate education at Harvard University. After graduating in 1988 from the University of Maryland Medical School, she completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Maryland. Dr. Hammond is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She joined the medical staff at St. Agnes Hospital in 2005. Dr. Hammond, her musician husband and three children live in Baltimore.

 

Dr. Erica Leventhal joined our practice in July, 1998. She had been in practice in Columbia starting in 1994. Dr. Leventhal received her B.A. in biochemistry from Vassar College in 1986. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Johns Hopkins University in 1990. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Johns Hopkins University in 1994. Dr. Leventhal is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She joined the medical staff at St. Agnes Hospital in 2005. She, her husband, Gary Wohlstetter, and their two children live in Columbia.

Dr. Leslie Apgar also joined us in 2000. She attended Washington State University where she graduated from the Honors Program with a B.S. in Zoology 1n 1991. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Penn State University in 1996. She completed her residency training at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Dr. Apgar is Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She joined the medical staff at St. Agnes Hospital in 2005. Dr. Apgar has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomy. She and her daughter live in Glenelg.

Dr. Gwen Yates, originally from Miami, Florida, joined us in 2001. She is a 1993 graduate from Tuskegee University. Her Medical Degree was received in 1997 from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Her residency training was received at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She is a member of the Amercian College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She joined the medical staff of Howard County General Hospital in 2001. Dr. Yates has a special interest in cosmetic procedures. Dr. Yates is Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She, her husband and daughter live in Ellicott City.

 

Dr. Dahna Goldberg moved to Maryland from Boston to join us in 2003. Her medical degree was received at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She did her residency training in Boston, then joined a private practice there. She is a Fellow of the Amercian College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Goldberg is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She, her husband and son live in Clarksville.

Dr. Upasana Bhatnagar has been in practice in Maryland since 2002. She completed her undergraduate degree at Yale University before obtaining her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati School of Medicine. She completed her residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Eastern Virginia School of Medicine in Norfolk, Virginia. She is a Fellow of the Amercian College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Bhatnagar is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is married, and has two young children.

Dr. Sherita Gaskins joined our practice in 2008. She graduated from Pamona College in California in 1994. She graduated from medical school at Georgetown University in 2004, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at George Washington University in 2008. Dr. Gaskins is board eligible of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a Junior Fellow of the American Collegeof Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Johanna Martino, C.R.N.P. is a nurse-practitioner who joined our staff in 1996. She has years of experience in Ob-Gyn health care, and performs routine gynecologic and obstetric exams, as well as evaluation and management of gynecologic problems. She practices in conjunction with the physicians.

Lisa Bellor, C.R.N.P joined our group in 2000.She is a nurse-practitioner who specializes in Gynecology. She formerly saw patients at the Columbia Medical Plan. She has years of experience in gynecology and performs routine gyn care, as well as evaluation and management of gynecologic problems.

Rory Carr, C.R.N.P joined our group in 2007. She is a nurse-practitioner who specializes in Gynecology. She moved to Maryland from Connecticut. She has years of experience in gynecology and performs routine gyn care, as well as evaluation and management of gynecologic problems.
